Social Media Week 2023 is an industry event exploring how social media reshapes culture, commerce, and connection. The 2023 edition, held at the TWA Hotel, embraced a retrofuturistic “Creatorverse” theme.
+Goal
Refresh the visual identity for the Creatorverse while maintaining brand recognition, introducing a cohesive, intentional system. The design needed to balance a serious tone with the playful energy of social media, refining last year’s emoticons into abstract shapes that support consistency across digital, print, and experiential touchpoints.
+Execution
-Cohesive Brand System: Created a scalable visual system across digital, print, and experiential assets—badges, hotel key cards, tote bags, pop-ups, and signage—ensuring consistency and reinforcing the retrofuturistic Creatorverse theme.-Iconography, Color & Hierarchy: Used shapes resembling emoji-inspired and chat bubble motifs with a refined color palette and clear layouts to balance playfulness and sophistication.-Experiential Immersion: Designed every asset to deliver a memorable, immersive experience, amplifying engagement and reinforcing the theme.
